I met Nick and Annie on a gray, foggy morning with rain showers rolling in and out. The gray sky set the perfect backdrop for a moody photography session; the clouds settled over the mountains in the background creating the perfect vibe for this couple.
Matching the theme from Tim Burton’s movie Nightmare before Christmas, Nick wore a black velvet jacket, purple shirt, and themed hat. Annie was super cute and a bit cold with her black skirt and top with her nails perfectly done to add a little more purple to the look. Both A&N wore black and white converse shoes, the perfect choice.
Bringing along a purple umbrella tied the whole day together perfectly.
They strolled along the dock, taking time for hugs and snuggling to stay warm.
Next, we took a short walk to the edge of the lake, where they walked hand in hand along a tree-lined path, simply enjoying each other’s company. They shared with me about their blended family, where they grew up and how they met, and their plans for their wedding day.
No engagement session is compete with a dance and dip move.
I enjoy getting to meet new couples and hear their unique stories. We spent about an hour together strolling along the docks and lake shore, relaxed and enjoying our time together taking photographs. Then, as we all walked back to the cars, we chatted more. Nick gave me a two-dollar bill folded into a ring, a special gift his father had taught him to make. Such a sweet and meaningful gesture.
